New Insight Report reveals unmet demand for community legal help in WA.

Community Legal WA has released the first publication in our new Insight Report series, examining unmet demand for community legal services across Western Australia.

Drawing on sector-wide data collected in 2025, the report provides new evidence about the scale and nature of unmet legal demand in WA. It highlights why people are missing out on legal help, the impacts of unmet need, and how community legal services are responding despite growing demand and limited resources.

The report offers insights into:

  • the reasons people are missing out on legal help
  • pressure points across the community legal sector
  • the consequences of unmet legal need
  • the role community legal services play in preventing harm and improving outcomes.

Alongside the report, Community Legal WA has developed a visual journey map illustrating the difference timely legal help can make for people navigating complex legal issues.
