Essential services and cultural events scaled back in remote communities due to cost of fuel

Aboriginal Family Legal Services CEO Corina Martin OAM, has raised concerns about the growing impact of the fuel crisis on remote communities across Western Australia. Speaking with ABC Pilbara, Ms Martin said outreach services have already been scaled back, with staff limiting travel to locations reachable on a single tank of fuel.

Ms Martin warned the situation is particularly concerning for people experiencing family and domestic violence, as reduced travel options can limit their ability to leave communities or access support services.
