Kimberley Community Services CEO Matt Panayi spoke regarding the demand for legal assistance in the regions and the high percentage of family and domestic violence matters seeking legal assistance from the service.
Commenting on the WA Ombudsmans review on 19th March 2026 “Anecdotal evidence, on the ground in the Kimberley, definitely points to victim-survivors slipping through the cracks even after police involvement, which aligns directly with the Ombudsman’s finding that 61 per cent of cases were high risk but only 2.5 per cent were escalated appropriately,”
