Legal and Advocacy advice, information, and referral services across three branches

• Generalist Service – located in East Victoria Park and for clients living in the South East metro catchment.
• Family Law – parenting matters and divorce/separation.
• Civil Law – issues affecting you as a private individual including criminal injuries compensation, minor civil disputes.
• Minor Criminal Law – including traffic offences, extraordinary drivers’ licenses, removal of lifetime license suspensions, please in mitigation, spent conviction advice, system navigation for most criminal charges.
• Tenancy Advice – for private and public housing tenants with disputes against landlords
• Financial Counselling – support to help people manage financial hardship through budgeting, debt negotiation, accessing hardship provisions, advocating and negotiating with creditors, and improving long-term financial wellbeing.
• Night Legal Service – staffed by pro bono lawyers two evenings a week, this service has no income or geographic eligibility and covers family law (children and property/financial matters), and civil law matters. This service is starting from approximately August/September 2026.
• Disability Service – located in Belmont and outreach sites, for clients with a disability (Catchment area varies – Disability Discrimination and SEA project are Statewide).
• Disability Discrimination (Statewide) – discrimination in education, employment or access to services or places.
• Disability Advocacy – Advocacy support and assistance for people with disability in engaging in various processes including but not limited to, applying for/reviewing Disability Support Pension, setting up NDIS plan, Guardianship, support advocating for reasonable adjustments in the workplace or education settings.
• NDIS Appeals Advocacy – Support for people seeking to appeal their NDIS plan or decisions made by NDIA.
• Supported Employment Advocacy Project – Education, resources and 1:1 advocacy for people with intellectual disability wanting to understand employment rights.
• Respondents Service – Court and phone-based services for Respondents to Restraining Orders (including Family Law advice where children are included on orders).
• ‘Restore’ – Restraining order assistance to respondents (FRVOs and VROs) – via early-stage telephone legal advice.
• ‘REACH’ – Family law (parenting) assistance to respondents (subject to FRVOs) to help people responsibly engage with Family Court- via early-stage telephone legal advice.
• Restraining Order Duty Lawyer Service – assistance at the Perth Magistrate Court (Court Room 58). Please Note – This service Cannot be booked in advance.
• Shuttle Conferencing – advice and representation for respondents resolving Family Violence Restraining Orders (FVROs) through shuttle conference mediation. Representation under this service is allocated through the Perth Magistrates Court and Sussex Street cannot directly book clients in.
