ABC News Perth: Extension of funding for shuttle conferencing

CLWA CEO Chelsea McKinney was interviewed for this great piece from Tabarak Al Jrood at ABC News Perth about yesterday’s announcement from the State Government to extend funding for the shuttle conferencing program, which reduces FVRO breaches and holds perpetrators to account.

We welcome the funding announcement – but more is needed. Community legal services are turning away hundreds of people each week and women’s legal service WA have had to close their books to new referrals until the end of the year.

In the housing, cost of living and FDV crises more people than ever are reaching out for legal help. We need a commitment to increased funding before the election so we can be there for WA families in crisis.
