About the role

The Workforce Project Lead works collaboratively across CLWA to advance workforce priorities. It is responsible for leading CLWA’s workforce project and delivering key priorities by undertaking research and data collection and translating workforce research, data and sector feedback into practical resources, capability-building initiatives, workforce development opportunities, advocacy evidence and future investment opportunities.


The role focuses on strengthening sector workforce capability, sustainability and sector readiness through data collection, workforce development, grant activities, stakeholder engagement, and strategic workforce initiatives.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential

  • A strong track record of successfully managing projects, including planning, implementation, time management, monitoring, evaluation and reporting;
  • Qualifications in a relevant area such as human resource management, organisational development, learning and development, project management, social sciences, community development or equivalent;
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing workforce capability, workforce development, sector development or organisational capability initiatives;
  • Demonstrated experience collecting, building, maintaining, analysing and interpreting datasets, and proactively using data and evidence to identify trends and insights, inform project and workforce priorities, and support decision-making, advocacy and sector development;
  • Experience in managing grants, funded programs or sector-wide projects.
  • Experience designing, coordinating or delivering professional learning and development activities;
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: learning management systems; leadership development; communities of practice; workforce planning; workforce wellbeing and psychosocial health; employment conditions;
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship management, consultation and facilitation skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse, interpret and communicate data and evidence;
  • High-level written communication skills, including experience preparing reports, briefings, presentations or sector resources;
  • High-level organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly and effectively to changing goals and contexts;
  • A sound understanding of social justice issues relevant to the work of community legal centres; and
  • Ability to travel within Western Australia, with occasional travel to other states or territories.

Desirable

  • Understanding of, or experience working with, the community legal sector.
  • Experience working within a member-based organisation, peak body or not-for-profit organisation;
  • Experience administering or developing content within a Learning Management System;
  • Knowledge of workforce sustainability issues affecting the community services or legal assistance sectors;
  • Knowledge of SCHADS and SACS Award-related workforce issues; and/or
  • Understanding of commissioning, capability frameworks or sector reform environments.

Hours

60-75 Hours per fortnight (0.8-1.00FTE)

Salary

Social and Community Services (SACS) Award Level 7

Employment type:

Fixed Term to 30 September 2027
