Sustainable CLCs
The Sustainable CLCs Project, funded by the Department of Justice, has worked with centres, providing them with intensive support to enable them to respond to the government’s legal assistance reforms.
Client-centred Services and Data
We have provided capacity building programs in client-centred practice and data and impact. This has resulted in improved knowledge and skills in the sector about client-focused, wraparound services and improved data accuracy and capability. We have helped centres understand and engage with the proposed changes, and supported them to explore options for mergers and partnerships to increase their organisational capacity.
Commissioning and Consultation
Together with the sector, we have had a significant influence on the development of the Department of Justice’s Legal Assistance Commissioning Strategy. We have strengthened the sector’s voice by consulting and representing the diverse range of views on: the introduction of minimum standards and levels of service; the roles of statewide specialist and place-based services; and ways to improve collaboration.
Creating a Sector Vision
The final stages of the project will see the sector come together to discuss our vision for the future. This includes how we will increase collaboration, what support is needed to implement the Commissioning Strategy, and how Community Legal WA can support and advocate for the sector.
