Data and Impact
As part of the Sustainable CLCs Project, CLWA received funding from the Department of Justice to support the sector to improve data collection and increase the use of data and other evidence to plan and target legal services.
Building knowledge and skills
CLWA has provided training and one-on-one support and has established data communities of practice to build capacity and improve practice. These measures have resulted in improved data quality. We provided technical assistance to enable Centres to meet new state and national reporting requirements. We developed and piloted a community legal Outcomes Framework, and ran training on how to move to impact reporting.
Future Data Focus
We have engaged and consulted the sector on data policy issues, advocating for ways to improve meaningful reporting and outcomes collection to state and national governments, and for the resources and infrastructure needed for this important work. CLWA hopes to continue this work in an ongoing way, to further build sector capacity, so that collectively we can powerfully leverage sector data to inform policy, funding and evidence-based practice.
