Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation connecting people all over Western Australia with information and services so they can make independent and informed decisions. CAB provide information and referral, a low-cost legal advice service on a wide range of issues, and a mediation service.

Cost

  • Legal advice appointments: $50 or $40 (with Concession)
  • All pre-mediation appointments: $75
  • Mediation appointments: Variable
  • Document drafting: Dependent on type and complexity of document

There is no eligibility criteria for this service.

  • Information and referral on a wide range of matters
  • Legal advice
  • Mediation – family and children, community and commercial
  • Preparation of legal documents including various Family court documents, simple wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney & Guardianship, Probate and letters of Administration
  • JP service
  • Tax help (from July to October)
  • Assistance with WA NILS (No Interest Loan Scheme) applications
  • Administrative support for victims of crime applying for Criminal Injuries Compensation
