Goldfields Community Legal Centre (GCLC) provides accessible legal and advocacy services to disadvantaged individuals in the Goldfields-Esperance region. GCLC offers information, advice, advocacy, duty law service and community legal education across various areas, including family law, civil law, tenancy issues, and migration settlement support.

Services

Family Law

  • Our solicitors can provide advice on separation, divorce, property settlement, and children’s matters including child protection and care. 

Civil Law

  • As a generalist legal centre, GCLC can provide free advice, casework assistance, representation when needed and community legal education on most matters including but not limited to violence restraining orders, criminal injuries compensation, enduring power of attorney/guardianship, minor vehicle accidents and extraordinary licences.

Duty Law Services

  • We offer regular duty law services in the areas of violence restraining orders and child protection and care.

Tenancy

  • Tenant advocates provide advice (including duty law service) to tenants experiencing issues including but not limited to, termination, repairs, rent arrears and disputes.

Migration

  • Goldfields Migrant Employment Project (GMEP) – Promotes job opportunities and the regional Goldfields lifestyle to metropolitan communities. This includes facilitated engagement between potential employees, employers and the local community to build strong relations to support those moving to the region.
  • Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) Program – Assists arrivals new to Australia find community, increase their knowledge of Australian society and develop independence as they settle into the Goldfields.
